Overnight Shooting on Clay Street in Annapolis Leaves One Man Dead, Multiple People Injured
Homicide detectives with the Annapolis Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a shooting late last night which left one man dead and multiple people injured.
The gunfire fire erupted in the 100 block of Clay Street shortly after midnight. Upon arrival, responding officers located an adult male victim in the rear of a residence suffering from injuries consistent with being shot. That victim was identified as 28 year old Shawn McGowan of Baltimore, he died from his injuries.
Three additional victims suffering from gunshot wounds were located inside of a residence. Those victims have been identified and are being treated for their injuries at local hospitals. Two of the victims have been identified as 17 year old females from Annapolis and the other has been identified as 26 year old Tijee Bennett also of Annapolis.
No arrests have been made. Police say this is an active investigation and anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact detectives at 410-260-3439. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest or indictment may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
