John Kaehler, Jr., 47, of Pasadena, Critically Injured Following Auto-Motorcycle Collision in Glen Burnie
A 47 year old man from Pasadena suffered critical injuries following a motorcycle involved vehicle collision in Glen Burnie.
On April 15, 2021 at approximately 6:30 pm, officers responded to the area of Mountain Road near Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie for a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
A Harley Davidson Electra Glide was traveling westbound on Mountain Road towards Ritchie Highway. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed approaching the intersection for Southdale Shopping Center. The traffic signal changed to red and the operator attempted to stop but lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. The operator and motorcycle came to rest in the intersection.
The operator of the motorcycle was treated by Anne Arundel County Fire Department
paramedics and transported to University of Maryland – Shock Trauma Center with life
threatening injuries.
The primary cause of the collision is the operator of the motorcycle, identifiefld as John David Kaehler, Jr., traveling at a high rate of speed and failing to stop for a steady red signal. It is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol are a contributing factor in this collision.
The collision is currently under investigation
by the Traffic Safety Section.
