Police: 16-Year Old Glen Burnie Shooting Suspect Charged as an Adult
Anne Arundel County Police have charged a 16-year old boy as an adult in connection with a recent Glen Burnie shooting incident.
On April 17, 2021 at approximately 1:48 a.m while investigating a shooting on Polk Drive shooting, officers heard multiple shots fired nearby. Officers canvassed the area and located a residence with damage to the rear sliding door as the emergency call was dispatched for the 6400 Block Freedom Drive for a shooting just occurred. e shooting, officers heard multiple shots fired nearby. Investigation revealed residential security surveillance which was reviewed and a suspect description was developed. While searching, a call for a destruction to auto on a nearby court was dispatched with a suspect description matching the surveillance footage. Officers confronted the suspect who was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, Tremar Antonio Copes, from the 200 Block of Allen Road, Glen Burnie, was in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
