Virginia Man Arrested on Gun, Drug Charge Following Laurel Traffic Stop, Anne Arundel County Police Say

An Anne Arundel County Police officer arrested a man from Virginia on drug and weapon charges after pulling over his vehicle in Laurel. 

On August 14, 2021, at approximately 6:05 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a green Lexus in the area of Laurel Fort Meade Road and Russett Green East in Laurel. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The investigation led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun located in the center console. 

The driver was arrested, charged and identified as:
