Edgewater Man Pleads Guilty in Connection with Glen Burnie Murder

An Edgewater man has entered a plea of guilty in connection with the October 2020 murder of 23-year-old Jose Salvador Mancia Aguilar, in Glen Burnie.

Aguilar was found just after 8 pm on on Sunday, October 4, 2020, unresponsive in the 600 block of Crain Highway North.  An autopsy determined he was killed byway of sharp force trauma.

Through investigation, Cristian Enrique Pleitez-Tejada, 21, of Edgewater, was one of three individuals identified as suspects in the case. Detectives learned Pleitez-Tejada had fled to Arkansas after the murder.  He was later arrested and charged accordingly.  

On October 4, 2021, an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge accepted Pleitez-Tejada's guilty plea to first degree murder, according to court records.  A sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled. 

23-year-old Gerardo Ernesto Quinteros Hernandez (left picture) and Carlos Antonio Hercules-Aquino, 24 (right picture), allegedly assisted Tejada's getaway following the incident. Both were charged with accessory after the fact to first and second degree murder. The status of their case were not immediately available.
