Police Identify Stacey Bishop, 54, of Shady Side, as Victim in Fatal Single Vehicle Crash

The Anne Arundel County Police Department has identified Stacey Murphy Bishop, a 54 year old resident of Shady Side, as the victim in a recent deadly car accident.

 On December 5, 2021, at approximately 1:20 a.m. officers responded to Snug Harbor Road in the area of Idlewilde Road for a single-vehicle crash. According to department officials, a 2003 Acura TL was traveling east on Snug Harbor Road approaching Idlewilde Road. For an unknown reason, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway into a drainage ditch. The Acura then struck a mailbox, rolled over, and struck a utility pole. 

Ms. Bishop, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time, was partially ejected. She was later was pronounced deceased on the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. 

 

Preliminarily, the primary cause of this crash is the vehicle driven by Ms. Bishop failing to drive within a single lane.
