Man, 48, Dies After Being Shot in the Head by His Stepfather, 70, Inside Brooklyn Park Residence
A 48 year old man has died after being shot in the head by his stepfather inside their Brooklyn Park home.
According to court documents obtained by Report Annapolis News, on February 22, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of a shooting that had just occurred at a home, 3 Park Place in Brooklyn Park. The caller indicated that an adult male had just shot his stepson inside the residence. When officers arrived, they found the suspect, who was waiting for officers and took him into custody without incident. The officers located the 48-year-old shooting victim inside the residence suffering from life-threatening injuries from a gunshot to the head, police records show.
Charging documents say prior to the shooting, Summers and Moore had engaged in an argument. "The defendant told a witness that he was going to kick down the door to the victim's bedroom and kill him." The witneess, who also lives in the home, reportedly then heard a gunshot coming from the victim's room.
The suspect, George Albert Summers shown, 70, (shown above, left photo), was charged in connection with the incident and has been ordered to be held without at the Jennifer Road Detention Center. Summers' stepson, Sharod Moore (shown above, right photo), later died from his injuries.
Sources say the argument between Moore and Summers was over a parking dispute.
