Arrest Made in Case of Man, 43, Beaten to Death Following Altercation Outside Brooklyn Park Home
The Anne Arundel County Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a 43 year old man being beaten to death after an atercation outside of his Brooklyn Park home in May.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said that on May 19, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., their officers responded to the scene of a reported assault that had just occurred in the 300 block of Arundel Road West. "Upon arrival, Christopher Michael Wright was being treated by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. Mr. Wright was transported to an area trauma center for treatment of a life-threatening injury," department officials wrote in their release. "During the investigation, officers learned that the suspects arrived at the victim's residence in reference to an earlier altercation. A physical altercation ensued and during that altercation, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries."
The next day, at approximately 9:45 p.m., the victim died at the hospital due to injuries he sustained during the attack.
According to the GoFundMe created to benefit Wright's family, three teens and two unknown adult male relatives of one of the boys approached the home and began to make threats of physical violence. "Chris went outside to defend his son and was beaten in the head and his head was slammed on the concrete repeatedly causing significant brain damage."
After consultation with county prosecutors, homicide detectives applied for charges for Trevor Garrett Taylor in the death of Mr. Christopher Wright. A warrant was issued yesterday by the Court Commissioner, which included:
Manslaughter
Second-degree assault (3 counts)
Affray
Disorderly Conduct
Mr. Taylor was served on the warrant and is currently at Central Holding & Processing in Annapolis.
