Traffic Stop in Arnold Yields Drug Recovery, Arrest of Local Man

The Anne Arundel County Department said its patrol officers seized drugs and arrested a local man during a traffic stop in Arnold. 

On July 21, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers were conducting an investigation as a result of a traffic stop where the suspect vehicle fled from officers, department officials said in a press release. "Officers made contact with the driver of the suspect vehicle, and while speaking with the driver, officers observed a large quantity of suspected marijuana in plain view inside the passenger compartment of the suspect vehicle," the press release said. 

According to the police department, officers subsequently located approximately 6.10 lbs of suspected Cannabis, 0.6 lbs of suspected Psilocybin mushrooms, 5.6 lbs of THC edibles, 22 THC cartridges, 46 disposable cannabis vapes, 300 grams of THC dabs, a digital scale and $425.00 in US currency.

 The driver was arrested, charged accordingly and identified as:  Jacob Dukes-Celey, 20, of Annapolis.
