Traffic Stop Yields Arrest of Glen Burnie Man, Seizure of Multiple Firearms
On July 26, 2023, just before midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation of motor vehicle law in the area of Laurel Ft. Meade Road and Old Annapolis Road in Laurel, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. In a press release, department officials said their officers discovered that additional violations were applicable for both the driver and vehicle, leading to the vehicle's removal from the roadway.
The officers allegedly found a short-barreled rifle with a suppressor along with a semi-automatic handgun with two high-capacity magazines in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, the police department said.
The driver was arrested, charged and identified as Philipp Isaula, 29.
