County Police Corporal Dies Suddenly, Gets Laid to Rest as Colleagues Bid Final Farewell

A member of the Anne Arundel County Police Department was laid to rest following a widely attended memorial service yesterday.  

The service took place at the 1st Baptist Church in Cateret, New Jersey. In a social media post, department officials said "Today we gave our final farewell to our brother in blue, Anne Arundel County Police Corporal Jerome Stanford #2311.  May he rest in peace."

A department spokesperson said Corporal Stanford had been with the department for five years, joining the agency in November of 2018. Stanford reportedly was off duty at time of his passing.  

Details regarding the cause and manner of death was not immediately available.
