18 Year Old Driver Dies, 17 Year Old Passenger Suffers Life Threatening Injuries Following Single Vehicle Crash in Brooklyn Park

A single vehicle crash in Brooklyn Park claimed the life of an 18 year old driver and left the 17 year old passenger with life threatening injuries, county police said today.

Department officials state that on June 26, 2024, at 12:30 a.m., officers assigned to the Northern District encountered a single-vehicle crash in the 4200 block of Ritchie Highway. "The investigation would reveal that a 2011 Infiniti G37 was traveling north on Ritchie Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to cross the raised center median and the southbound travel lanes. The Infiniti left the
 roadway and struck a tree," a police statement said. 

According to the statement, the Infiniti driver
 was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel, and the passenger was taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries.

The driver was identified as Anthony Wayne Hinton, III, of Glen Burnie.
