Detectives Continue Investigating Two Recent Brooklyn Park Homicides

Detectives for the Anne Arundel County Police Department are continuing the investigations related to two recent Brooklyn Park homicides. 

On July 1, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Ritchie Highway and 4th Avenue for what was originally dispatched as an injured subject.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim suffering from apparent stab wound(s) on a sidewalk. The victim, who has not been positively identified yet, was treated on the scene and then transported to Shock Trauma where she later died from her injuries. Preliminary information from witnesses indicates the female victim was in a verbal argument with a male suspect prior to the stabbing. When officers arrived, the male suspect was gone from the scene. The victim and suspect appear to have known each other and the incident appears to be targeted in nature.

On June 29, 2024, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Northern District officers responded to the intersection of Route 2 North and Orchard Avenue for what was originally dispatched as a motor vehicle collision involving injuries. 

Upon arrival, officers located 34-year-old Joshua Ray Holland of Curtis Bay, who was later, determined to be suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Shock Trauma and ultimately died from his injuries. Preliminary information from witnesses indicates a vehicle suddenly stopped at the intersection and an adult male fell out of the driver's side front door. The vehicle then fled the area. Officers later located the vehicle in the area of Old Riverside Road near Arundel Road.
