Two Year Old Child Left Dead Following Hit and Run Accident on Americana Drive in Eastport

A two year old child was struck and killed on Americana Drive in Annapolis' Eastport community.

According to a police spokesperson, units were called to the 600 block of Americana Drive shortly after 4pm yesterday following reports of a hit and run accident.  Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle did not stop after striking the toddler who had wondered into the street.  The child later died from the injuries.

The investigation is active and ongoing.  A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.  Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
