Annapolis Police Investigates Accident on Cedar Park Road Which Left a Pedestrian & His Dog Dead

The Annapolis Police Department is actively investigating an accident which left a pedestrian and his dog dead on Thanksgiving. 

In a press release, the police department reports that on November 28, 7:25 am, officers responded to the intersection of Cedar Park Road and Woodlawn Avenue for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the deceased, David Chan, unconscious lying facedown in the the roadway. He was pronounced dead by AFD on scene after life-saving measures were unsuccessful, the press release said.  

The preliminary investigation revealed the Mr. Chan just left his home on Cedar Park Road to walk his dog when he was struck by a Honda Odyssey minivan traveling eastbound on Cedar Park Road.  The deceased was crossing the road in front of his home when he was struck. 

Mr. Chan's rottweiler was also struck by the motor vehicle and was taken to a emergency veterinary hospital for treatment. The dog was utimately euthanized at the request of the family due to the severity of the injuries, the press release stated.
