Man Faces Charges Following Weapons Violation, Driving Under the Influence Arrest in Crofton

A man from Severna Park is facing jail time after being arrested on weapons violation and driving under the influence charges.  

Accrding to county police, officers responded to the 2100 block of Espey Court in Crofton for a report of a driver slumped behind the wheel of a silver Acura MDX illegally parked in the roadway on December 05, 2024, at approximately 1:20 p.m. The driver reportedly displayed signs of alcohol impairment. 

"Open containers of alcohol were observed in plain view, along with a holstered black 43X Glock on the passenger floorboard," department officials said. "The driver possessed a valid permit, but it was rendered invalid due to his intoxication."

The driver, Cristopher George Shaw, was arrested and charged accordingly.
