"keep Hayden Lambert out of the school. Keep our babies safe!" Bates Middle PE Teacher Gets Reassigned After Online Petition Surfaces

A physical education teacher at Bates Middle School has been "temporarily reassigned" after school officials were alerted to a petition that had been launched online calling for his removal. 

The petition, which was created yesterday, has gained more than 2 dozen signatures, as of 10:30pm on Friday, January 24.  "Collaboration is essential to guarantee the safety of bates middle school students. Multiple complaints have been filed regarding Mr hayden lambert the gym teacher, he has allegedly caused several students to feel uneasy," the petition said. "The complaints include his offers to allegedly help them change, allegedly entering the girls locker room, allegedly observing them while stretching, allegedly engaging inappropriate behavior with some students, and allegedly inappropriately touching them. These incidents have reportedly been occurin for an extended period. We can work together to prevent these situations and ensure students safety. Thank you all for your assistance in advance."

In a letter to families, the school administrator said Mr. Lambert has been temporarily reassigned pending an investigation.  

"I ask that you please understand that this is a personel matter and that I am not at liberty to discuss the details.," the email said. 

Lambert, 48, has an annual salary of $109,386 according to public records.
