Annapolis City Leaders and Community Advocates Seek Help Funding a Coin Machine for an Eastport Laundry Center
City leaders and advocates around Annapolis are joining forces to help fund a coin machine for a laundry center in Eastport, making a tangible difference in the lives of community members.
In a facebook post, organizers of the initiative said the following: "The reality is that the Eastport Terrace and Houbour House Communities is empowered to seek innovative solutions, to overcome the challenge of lacking a coin machine for laundry rooms.
Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell gifted the Eastport housing communites with $500.00 to be used for the purpose of helping the community.
Entrusted with these funds it was decided that we would press our efforts towards something that has been brought up, and over looked without solution unitl now.
Our goal is to raise $625.00 in addition to what Alderwoman Pindell gave the community to purchase a coin machine for the community.
Once purchased it will be held in the HACA main office and available for all residence.
I would like to take this moment to recognize Heaven White, Diesha Contee and Mr. Sammy as we stand in agreement 🤝 ☮️ to government these efforts. We invite you to make this different with us. ✌️
??? Have you ever went to a laundromat put your coins in the machine and your money got taken.
- The Eastport Housing community has no banks within walking distance.
- the stores surrounding the eastport housing community are not obligated and do not give out quarters to people attempting to exchange.
For the elderly and the disabled and those without vehicles, having a laundry coin machine in the community is not just a added cushion amenity, it is necessary."
