A Brooklyn man's luck changed after winning $50,000 playing the $50,000 Cash scratch-off. He bought three tickets at a 7-Eleven in Brooklyn Park using his usual technique of purchasing multiple scratch-offs in a row.

According to the Maryland Lottery, the married stepfather encountered a faulty scanner while checking his third ticket, he refused to give up. After trying another scanner, he was ecstatic to see the message, 'Go to the Lottery.' With renewed excitement, he rushed back to his car to scratch off the entire instant ticket, discovering his remarkable $50,000 prize. 

The winner confirmed his luck and rushed home to surprise his wife, who thought it wasn't a winner at first.

After winning, the couple celebrated, and the husband made plans to claim the prize. He'll use the winnings to pay off credit card bills and make home improvements. The retailer that sold them the winning ticket will receive a $500 bonus.
