Student Arrested Following Altercation During Sporting Event at Old Mill High
The Anne Arundel County Police Department today announced the arrest of an Old Mill High School student following an alleged assault which occurred during a recent sporting event.
In a statement, police department officials said on February 7, 2025, at approximately 8:19 p.m., the School Resource Officer was on duty at an Old Mill High School basketball game when he received a report of an assault on the Old Mill North Middle School property. Initial information indicated that the suspect confronted the victims, physically assaulted them, and brandished a possible firearm at the victims, officials say.
"Through the investigation, it was determined the suspect displayed a replica BB gun during the incident. The replica BB gun was later recovered at the suspect's residence," the statement said. "On Monday, February 10, 2025, the 16-year-old male suspect from Odenton was taken into custody without incident at Chesapeake High School, where he attends school."
The suspect was reportedly charged with numerous counts of first and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, along with weapons offenses.
